Diet & Weight Management
Keep an eye on your pet’s waistline – excess fat is as bad for them as it would be for you
Just as with humans, eating too much and exercising too little can cause both health and comfort problems for your pet. Keeping them at an ideal weight will ensure that they stay happier in the short term, and are also much likely to live longer and healthier lives.
There are a variety of different types of food available for pets, including specially formulated young, adult and ‘elderly’ versions which contain specific nutrients to make sure your pet’s dietary needs are met at that stage in their life. Make sure you don’t feed your pet the wrong type of food as it is not likely to suit their requirements and may either over or undernourish them.
You will also have to decide between wet or dry food for your pet, or a combination of both.
With all of these options available, it’s easy to get confused – but that is where we can help!
Our vets and nurses are more than happy to talk to you about the best type of food for your pet’s species and situation. If your pet is over or underweight, they can also work with you to develop a diet and exercise regime to get your companion back to the peak of health.
Here at Bunbury & Eaton Vet Clinic we stock the Royal Canin pet food range, available in several different varieties. This is a quality food to help your pet stay in the best possible health. Our whole team feed their own pets Royal Canin, and would have no hesitation in recommending it to other owners!
